Trace was born at home in Page, Arizona, to John and Beth (Jacobson) Hepworth on September 18, 1986.

Trace spent most of his time growing up in Riverton, Utah. He loved going camping, fishing, swimming at the public pool, Jordan River or canal, playing cops & robbers, and playing football. Trace had a life-long enjoyment of toy trains. He could most often be found setting up and running his electric trains around and around. When Trace was very young, his mother always gave him a buzz cut so no one really knew what potential lay in those hair follicles. When he was a teenager, he began to let his hair grow out, and to everyone’s shock, including his own, he had the lushest, curliest locks of golden hair. He would often pic his hair out into an afro, which he became very well known for.  When Trace was 17 years old, he decided to move back to Page with his father.  

Trace met the love of his life, Deerae Henderson, when he was 19 years old. They were an excellent match, with Deerae being a hair stylist and Trace’s long curly hair, she was able find the right products to make Trace’s hair even more amazing. The two of them also have an easy-going manner that worked well together. They have one beautiful 4-year-old daughter, Purcaius, together. Purcaius was Trace’s pride and joy, and he loved fishing, drawing, playing and building with her. He would set up his trains around the Christmas tree with Purcaius.

Trace had a wonderful sense of humor that was a combination of dry words and goofy actions. Trace had a big smile that made those around him feel good. Trace was easy to talk to due to his calm, easy-going manner, his acceptance of others for who they were, and his belief that everyone should be allowed to believe as they felt best.  

Trace worked at several places around town doing oil changes, moving and installing furniture, working at the water treatment facility, doing construction work and working for an internet company. Trace enjoyed working in his yard, making a garden, working on his shed, and dreaming about having a houseboat. Trace was generous with lending a hand to help his friends, family and neighbors.  

Trace was a baptized member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he also enjoyed attending several other congregations in Page.

Trace sadly passed away in Page, Arizona, on September 17, 2023, one day before his 37th birthday. He will be missed by those who knew him.

Trace is survived by his significant other Deerae Henderson, his daughter Purcaius, his father John Hepworth, his brothers Larry (Rhonda) Stott, Luke (Katie) Stott, and Squire (Jami) Hepworth, his grandparents Charles & Eulene Hepworth and Nancy (Jacobson) & Vern Tripp.  He is preceded in death by his mother Beth (Jacobson) Hepworth, grandparents Gayle Brinkerhoff and David Jacobson, aunt Jill Jacobson, and uncles Wayne Jones and Andy Browne.

Memorial services were held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1301 North Navajo Drive, Page, Arizona 86040 on September 22, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. 

Funeral services were made with Mosdell Mortuary.
