Services for Illisa “Isha” Maria Tso, 35, of LeChee, Arizona, were held Nov. 6 at LeChee Chapter.
Illisa was born Aug. 13, 1988, in Page, Arizona, into the Kinyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan), born for Deeshchii’nii (Start of the Red Streak People clan). Her cheii is Honágháahnii (One-Walks-Around Clan); náli is Táchii'nii (Red Running Into the Water People Clan). She passed away Nov. 3, 2023, in St. George, Utah.
Illisa attended schools in Eugene, Oregon, and Oak Harbor, Washington. Isha was employed at various hotels in the Page area and as tour guide on Navajo Nation. She enjoyed music, writing, drawing, photography, a digital creator, Seattle Seahawks fan, learning languages such as American Sign Language and Spanish, traveling with family, and many have shared stories of hiking at the various national parks with a day’s drive of LeChee/Page.
Illisa is survived by her son Esequiel Tso; mother Irmadine Charley; brothers Jaren Tso of Eugene, Gaston Tso of Eugene, Arist Tso of Eugene and Chad Sloan; sisters Brittany Tso of Peoria, Arizona, and Saige Sloan; stepdad Randolph Sloan; and nieces, nephew, many loving uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Illisa is preceded in death by her father Elton Tso; maternal grandparents Annie R. Tsosie and George A. Charley; and paternal grandparents Rose Sampson and Kee-y Yazzie Tso.
