National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day was observed Aug. 21. The following day, Page Police made an arrest involving over 2,000 fentanyl pills in a vehicle. Six days later, another arrest was made after finding fentanyl pills in a vehicle

According to a Page Police Department releases, National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day “is established in remembrance of those lost to illicit fentanyl poisoning and to acknowledge the devastation this drug has brought to hundreds of thousands of affected family members and friends. This is a day of a coordinated response from fentanyl awareness organizations and affected families sharing their lived experiences as part of a whole group warning and informing our youth, the public, and the unsuspecting. The national day is observed on August 21st.”

On Aug. 22, a Page Police Officer stopped a vehicle for a suspended license plate. The driver was identified as Santana Manheimer, and the lone passenger in the vehicle was identified as Leander Edison. It was determined the vehicle belonged to Edison.

Shortly after the stop was initiated, officers learned that Edison had a federal warrant for his arrest that originated from the U.S. Marshal’s Office. After Edison was placed under arrest, officers continued their investigation. A firearm was located inside the vehicle, and it was later confirmed that Edison was a prohibited possessor of firearms, due to a previous felony conviction.

Officers continued their investigation and located large quantities of methamphetamine and over 2,000 fentanyl pills. Due to the amounts of both drugs, Edison was arrested and booked into custody for possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of narcotic drugs for sale, and two counts of misconduct with a weapon. The U.S. Marshal’s Office was contacted and will be responsible for the charges related to the federal warrant.

On Aug. 28, Page Police officers begun searching for a vehicle that had fled the scene of an assault. At approximately 2:40 p.m., officers located the vehicle in the area of Golliard Park. The passenger in the vehicle, identified as Dallan Stickney, was moving around in the passenger compartment and appeared to throw something out the window. He then exited the vehicle and appeared to be in distress.

After Stickney exited the vehicle, the driver, identified as Sierra Beadle, attempted to drive away from the area but was stopped by responding officers. Officers located a container on the passenger side floorboard that contained pills identified as fentanyl. Officers continued their investigation and located additional fentanyl pills inside the vehicle. Stickney and Beadle were both arrested and booked for Possession of a Narcotic Drug. Stickney was also booked for the assault relating to the original call.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
