The recently inaugurated Page Indigenous Comet Club is the first student club to ever be formed at CCC’s Page campus. According to club ambassador Charmayne Yazzie, the club – which currently has about 15 members – is not just for the Native American students, but is also for everybody who is part of CCC. “It’s a new club that just started here at CCC. We all pitched in ideas and decided on it being a club open to all CCC students,” Yazzie said. “We are recruiting more people. We do want more people to come and enjoy it, especially with it being the very first club here at Page campus. People are bringing in a lot of ideas, like volunteering and engaging with the community as well.” The club is currently planning on holding a storytelling session in November, where CCC faculty will tell stories about Native American people. They hope members of the public will also attend and get up on stage to share their stories as well.
