Encompass welcomes new practitioner

PAGE – Encompass Health Services hired a new medical provider, Ashley Hopson, and has officially re-opened the medical center to the community.

Gwen Lasslo, the human resource director at Encompass, said, “Our former Family Nurse Practitioner Bee Valvo retired on July 31st. We have a new, full-time family nurse practitioner named Ashley Hopson. She has relocated here from Florida and brings with her some valuable FNP experience.”

Hopson will be working to build the Encompass Medical patient caseload back up from what it currently is, which is just Encompass’s dual-enrolled clients and the small number of community members that had been being seen previously. Encompass Medical will also continue providing services for local employers, such as drug screens and company flu shots.

Hopson is nationally certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and began her career as an operating room nurse and in the post-anesthesia care unit in Georgia before relocating to Florida, where she worked as an operating room nurse at Bay Medical Sacred Heart.

She obtained her master’s in nursing and began working as an FNP at Coastal Internal Medicine, where she managed complex diseases, addressed women’s health issues and provided preventative care to a variety of patients.

Ashley said she “enjoys spending time with her husband of 11 years and their two young children. She and her family are excited to be relocating to Page, where they can enjoy the outdoors and be part of a small and caring community.”

Call (928) 645-5113 to make an appointment. Encompass doors are currently closed, but medical staff will meet patients at the medical front door to escort them back.
