The City of Page Recreation Department hosted more than 1,000 people at the Sports Complex last Saturday to take in this year’s community Easter Egg Hunt. The eager participants quickly harvested 8,000 eggs.
The annual Easter egg hunt is the Recreation Depts. biggest single-day event each year.
“We couldn’t do it without our volunteers, or longtime event sponsor Alliant Gas,” said Recreation Director Jackie LaNew. “Even though it was spring break we had 44 volunteers who helped staff set up and take down the event, direct people to fields, distribute prizes and dress up as the Easter Bunny and other characters. People volunteering included Recreation Department coaches, referees and their friends and family members, Girl Scouts troops from elementary to high-school age and their leaders, National Honor Society, Varsity Softball, Girls Tennis team members, Park and Recreation Board members and Mayor Bill Diak.
