Chronicle to raise newsstand price only

Posted: Wednesday, Oct 2nd, 2013

From time to time things have to change, even when we don’t want them to.

Due to increased cost of just about everything, the newsstand price of the Lake Powell Chronicle will go from 75 cents to $1 as of your next issue. Subscription prices ($53.15 annual/local) will not change.

For several years, the Chronicle has been offered at a discount for readers buying their paper from counters or newspaper coin-op machines. We’ve done our best to keep the price low, but the cost of everything, from paper and ink to electricity and insurance, keeps climbing. The up-side is that we will not be raising subscription prices. Perks of a subscription include mailbox or home delivery plus free online access to the entire Chronicle each week – for only about $1 per week.

To help cushion the cost increase at the newsstand, anyone who takes out a new local subscription for one year during the month of October can get it at the old newsstand price. Instead of paying $53.15, you can get your paper for a year for only $39—just 75 cents per week.

Simply call Chronicle Circulation Manager Tammy Tichinel at 645-8888 and mention this article to receive the discount. Offer expires on Oct. 31, 2013. Subscriptions must be for one year in the local area. New subscribers only.
