School board vacancy prompts town hall meeting

Coconino County Superintendent of Schools Robert Kelty is sponsoring a town hall meeting at the Page Community Townhouse on July 16 from 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

The meeting is to answer questions about how school boards work and, specifically, about serving on the Page Unified District Governing Board.

A county school representative will be joined by Sandra Kidman, PUSD board president, and Karen Loftus, director of leadership at the Arizona School Board Association.

This is the communityís opportunity to learn of the commitment required and the civic pride of serving alongside school board members.

This meeting is open to any interested community member and no reservations are required.

There is a vacancy on the PUSD board. Interested parties may request an application by emailing cgarrison@coconino.az.gov The deadline for application submission is July 31 at 5 p.m.
