Richard Lee Gilmore was born on Aug. 27, 1949, to Donna and Earl Gilmore. He peacefully passed away on April 24, 2013.
His father moved to Page to work on the Glen Canyon Dam and the city became one of Richardís favorite places. He returned twice to live here.
Richard was a decorated Vietnam veteran serving two tours of duty as an Army helicopter pilot. He was promoted to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer III. Richard earned a Silver Star, two Bronze stars, three medals of Valor and 3 Distinguished Flying Crosses.
He loved photography, writing, history, swimming, hiking and animals. Richard was strong proponent for veteran benefits. Richard was a loving uncle, brother and son who will be dearly missed.
Richard Gilmore will be put to rest with full military honors at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas, on June 14, 2013 at 1 p.m.
