Relay for Life

Modified: Thursday, May 16th, 2013

The "survivors' lap" around the track at Sand Devils Stadium that led off the Page Relay for Life.

A gorgeous evening, a worthy cause and a dedicated group of caring citizens made the Page Relay for Life a success.

According to Marissa Griffin, 14 teams and 182 people participated in the May 11 event at Sand Devils Stadium, raising $14,210 with more still coming in.

Funds are used by the American Cancer Society for research, education, and support for cancer victims.

Among the donations was more than $650 from the boys and girls basketball teams at Page High School. Under the guidance of girls coach Justin Smith and boys coach David Vespignani, one regular-season game was designated as "Pink-Out Night." Both teams work pink warmups to indicate support for cancer victims.
