From Lake Powell to Lake Havasu, John West, the Powell Museum Artist of the Month for April, has traversed the state of Arizona taking pictures of its unique wildlife inhabitants, particularly those that fly.

West said he first became interested in photography years back while living in southern Utah. When he moved to the Grand Canyon area in 2004 he found many opportunities to find great shots in the surrounding area.
