The Lady Sand Devils split their first two matches of the season, winning at Sedona before dropping a close match to Northland Prep, 5-4, in Flagstaff March 5.
The boys lost to Northland by the same score on the same day in Page. They had opened the season with a 5-4 loss to Sedona. The boys play March 16 in a tournament hosted by Antelope Union High School in Wellton.
Both teams are scheduled to play their next home matches March 23 against Prescott. Each will play a doubleheader, with the boys starting at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and the Lady Sand Devils at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Track & Field
Inclement weather prevented the Sand Devils from traveling to the invitational meet in Buckeye March 9, according to coach Reginald Edwards.
The Sand Devils host the Page Multiple March 15, one of just two home meets this season. It starts at 2 p.m. The other home show is the Page Invitational April 20.
After shutting out Monument Valley March 4, the Devils return to the field March 13 and 15 at home against Coconino and Flagstaff, respectively. Both games are scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
The Lady Sand Devils are in the midst of a three-week span without playing a home game after a dismal opener, losing 25-3 to Coconino March 5 at the Page Sports Complex.
They played a tournament in Maricopa last weekend and are scheduled for rematch with the Panthers in Flagstaff on March 13.
