The Coppermine Chapter unanimously passed a resolution Feb. 23 to request transportation agencies of all involved governments to pool resources and implement a course of action to improve and maintain Navajo Route 20 as an alternate route during the closure of U.S. Highway 89.
The resolution came after Coppermine Chapter President Floyd Stevens said there is a plan in place to pave NR 20.
“The finalized plans, drawings, preliminary studies are all done for NR 20. The only thing that we’re missing is the money and the resources to go with construction.”
