On Feb. 18, 2013, Shellie Lavon Salter, 55, our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother and friend gained her angel wings when she was called to the Lord.
Shellie was born on Aug. 31, 1957, in Flint, Mich., and was the daughter of Elbert Basham (deceased). She was the youngest of five with her siblings being Rickie Basham, Penelope Martinez, Vickie Morrison, and Tina Basham.
She married her high school sweetheart, John Salter of Tifton, Ga., on Sep. 5, 1975, when they decided to travel the states to experience life in their little blue bus. So they hit the road.
They traveled many years and eventually settled in Page where she worked at Page Hospital. In 1985 they welcomed their only daughter, Melody Salter.
Shellie worked for Page Unified School District where she loved serving the children with smiles everyday. Shellie Salter loved life and had a smile that lit the room; that light will be missed very much.
In 2000 Shellie fulfilled her lifelong dream of having her own Harley Davidson motorcycle and was given the ride name of “Spycc.” She and her husband rode for years and enjoyed every minute of the open road.
Shellie Salter was blessed with three handsome grandsons: Dustin, Trystan, and Mayson. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved having them around and taught them great morals and shared great experiences that will last them a lifetime.
Shellie is survived by her husband, daughter, grandchildren, siblings, many nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on March 2, 2013, at Faith Bible Chapel in Page at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers please do something nice for someone today.
