The Bowl donated its lanes the evening of Feb. 16 for a fund-raiser to help Carla Corn, the widow of Walt Corn, with medical expenses incurred during his extended stay in the Valley while being treated for cancer.
Forty-four bowlers participated, raising $2,828, according to Jo Bjorholm, who raises money for local residents with cancer.
There was a live auction for two movie baskets, a night at Jacob Lake Inn, a wine basket, and good food. A cherry cheesecake brought in $100, Bjorholm said. It was to be shared with Safeway employees in memory of Walt, who worked there many years.
