The Navajo Generating Station owners have more good news concerning the continued operation of the plant.
According to announcements from both Navajo Nation President Ben Shelly and NGS part owners and operators Salt River Project, a tentative agreement has been reached that would extend the site lease from 2019 to 2044.
The new lease comes at a price tag of $42 million a year to NGS owners.
