According to Brandy Judson of Native Americans for Community Action, suicide is the third leading cause of death among 10 to 24-year-olds, and that is why the group has proposed to conduct free suicide prevention screening at Page Middle School.
Judson and her colleague Audrey Bradley gave a presentation explaining the Teen Screen process to the Page Unified School District governing board last week.
According to Judson, the program is voluntary, would come at no cost to the district and would require minimal staff assistance to facilitate, all concepts board members were receptive to.
