Walter Joseph Corn, 63, of Page, passed away on Jan.28, 2013, in Queen Creek, Ariz. Walt was born on June 8, 1949, in Henryette, Okla., to John and Josephine Corn. He was the third of seven children.
Walt and Carla were married on Aug. 23, 1968, in Modesto, Calif.
After graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering from Modesto Junior College, Walt decided to stay in the lumber business, in sales and marketing, for the next eighteen years. In 1986 Walt and Carla moved to Page to work in the family business. Walt considered Safeway and Aramark his extended family and loved working for both companies.
Walt loved meeting family and friends at Lake Powell. Walt enjoyed working the ADA Youth Camp and the ADA projects in the Kaibab. Walt also loved to travel.
Walt is remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. Walt is survived by his wife Carla of Page, daughters Lisa (Richard) Hallgarth of Dillsboro, Ind., Emily (Lawrence) Brook of Queen Creek, his mother Josephine Corn of Page, brothers John (Sue) Corn of Davenport, Fla., Norman (Linda) Corn of Mesa, Arizona, David (Tami) Corn of Redding, Calif., Michael (Aimee) Corn and sisters Rosemary Sneed and Theresa Miller all of Page.
Walt was the proud grandfather of Taylor, Katheryn, Elaine, Lauren, Mary and Colin. Walt is preceded in death by his father John Corn.
A service will be held at 11 a.m., Feb. 16, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
