Heading into its regular season finale Jan. 29 against El Capitan in Colorado City, the Page High boys basketball team was ranked ninth in Division III, Section I, one spot out of qualifying for the post-season sectional tournament.
It’s unlikely the Sand Devils will make that tourney, but there’s a chance they could qualify for the state tournament, head coach David Vespignani said.
First, it would take a victory over the Eagles, who rallied late to beat the Devils in overtime Dec. 13 at Page High. (The game at Colorado City was scheduled to begin after this issue of the Chronicle went to press.)
