Page city council Jan. 23 appointed a full complement of members to the Substance Abuse Task Force, a reflection of changes councilors made to the structure of the board last month.
Seven candidates sought five seats on the task force, which is charged with “… coordinating efforts to establish and strengthen programs to reduce and prevent substance abuse in the community.”
Councilors—except David Tennis, who attended the meeting via telephone and did not submit a ballot nor a verbal choice—ranked each of the candidates in order of preference.
The top three were:
• Hollis Boughton, of Greenehaven, who has 14 years of law enforcement experience, according to her application;
• Bunny Cochran, of Page, prevention specialist for Encompass Medical Center;
• Gregg Martinez, behavioral director for Canyonlands Healthcare.
Each will serve a term ending in June 2017.
