PHS basketball teams drop three of four in Flagstaff

Coming out of the holiday break, the boys and girls basketball teams traveled down Hwy. 89 to play Flagstaff and Coconino Jan. 4 and 5, respectively, but returned with just one victory between them.

The Lady Sand Devils defeated the Panthers, 45-35, on the strength of a second quarter in which they outscored their hosts, 15-1.

Dana Worker led the way with 17 points, including three three-pointers.

Jessica Anderson scored 12 points, hitting five of 11 shots from the field while converting both of her free throws. She also blocked five shots.

Autumn Whitehorse had a team-high six boards while Anderson and Nicole Douglas each had five.
