Sand Devils drop overtime game to El Capitan, finish week 1-1

The Page High boys basketball team on Dec. 13 blew an 11-point, fourth-quarter lead and went on to lose in overtime, 66-64, to visiting El Capitan.

The loss dropped Page’s record to 8-5.

The Sand Devils, with guard Jamaal Thomas out with an injury, had trouble against the Eagles’ trapping defense. Leading 51-40 with 4:10 left in the game, the Devils turned the ball over three times in about 78 seconds and fouled an Eagle taking a long jump shot, allowing El Capitan to close within 53-48.
