Local studio’s ‘Nutcracker’ is a Page holiday tradition

For 22 years, The Dancespace professional dance studio has enriched the holiday season with its annual presentation of one of the most well known Christmas stories of all time, “The Nutcracker Ballet.”

Led by studio owner and instructor Jan Kocjan, the dancers will carry on the tradition this season at 7 p.m. on Dec. 14 and 15 in the Cultural Arts Building.

This year the performance will star Tiana Bartholomew as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Samuel Cochran as the Nutcracker Prince and Cavalier, and Brylie Fisher as Clara.

According to Kocjan, the audience will be treated to the full “Nutcracker Spectrum,” from the elaborate party scene through the mysterious midnight scene, to the iconic “Waltz of the Flowers,” finale.
