GREENEHAVEN — A Greenehaven man allegedly used a high-powered rifle at close range to shoot and kill his live-in girlfriend at their apartment May 12.
Friends heard the gunshot and saw Cemaludin (Danny) Veseli running from the apartment. They checked inside and found Autumn Tenney dead, then called police, according to a report from the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office.
A paramedic with the Greenehaven Fire Department was first on the scene but was unable to revive the 20-year-old woman.
Two Page police officers arrived and found Veseli, whom they arrested without incident.
Sheriff’s deputies secured the crime scene and began the investigation.
Veseli, 30, was taken to Flagstaff where he was booked into the county jail on a charge of first-degree murder, according to the sheriff’s report. He is being held on $250,000 bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
Police say that Veseli and Tenney had begun arguing while hosting a get-together with friends, but were apparently alone when the argument escalated and the fatal shot was fired.
