Nona Begay Saganitso, wife and homemaker

Nona Begay Saganitso, 87, a lifelong resident of Coppermine died on April 20, 2012 . She was born June 12, 1924 in Coppermine, the daughter of Hugh Billy and Marlene Long Begay. Nona was adopted by her grandmother Alice Long and grandfather Little Man Long after the passing of her parents. Nona was a homemaker and was married for 30 years to Lewis Saganitso Sr. until his passing, she was also preceded in death by a son; Tommy Saganitso and a brother Arnold Begay.

Nona is survived by sons; Larry, Nathaniel, Lewis Jr. and Wayne Saganitso, daughters; Rose Marie Johnson, Sally Sue Tahy, Shirley Tsosie, Marlene Saganitso, Annie Yellowman and Gertie Marie Saganitso, sisters; Mary Begay Yazzie and Mary Jane Simpson. Nona is also survived by 28 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

A visitation is scheduled from 9:15 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, April 27 at Faith Bible Chapel; 551 San Francisco Rd. in Page. Services will follow at 10 a.m. in the chapel. Interment will be at Page Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Dean Funeral Home in Page.
