PAGE – A lease agreement between Page Municipal Airport and Go Sky Dive Moab LLC, doing business as Sky Dive Lake Powell, was approved by the city council during its regular meeting on Nov. 23.
Earlier in the month, City Manager Bo Thomas and airport director Richard Jentzsch submitted a letter of intent and a recommendation for council to approve leasing room 12 of the Page Municipal Airport to the skydiving business for $252 a month, plus tax and utilities or $3,024.96 a year, plus overnight aircraft parking fees.
“At its Nov. 8 meeting, the airport board recommended the lease of room 12 and use of the airfield for aircraft takeoffs, landings and parking,” Jentzsch said in the recommendation. “However, for safety reasons, they strongly recommend an off-airport landing zone.”
Robert Gray, owner of Go Sky Dive Moab, asked for a one-year lease to conduct parachute-jumping activities over the airport, but the approved lease prohibits using the facilities as a drop-zone.For the complete article see the 12-01-2010 issue.
