Posted: Wednesday, Nov 25th, 2009

PAGE – Free All-Hazards Homeland Security Initiative Community Partnership and Awareness Training is coming to Page.

Sponsored by Coconino County Sheriff Bill Pribil, District 5 Supervisor Lena Fowler, the Department of Homeland Security, and the National Sheriff’s Department, the training provides citizens with information on how to be aware of potential threats posed by terrorist activities, and how to prepare and respond to natural and human error disasters.

Participants will learn how to create a family disaster plan, what to include in a family disaster kit; how to develop a community resource data base; crisis response; and will receive terrorism awareness, chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive information.

Geared toward educating both community leaders and private citizens, the attendees will perform a desktop exercise that will allow them to experience an emergency preparedness situation.
