Discover what God considers obedience

Posted: Thursday, Jan 23rd, 2014

R. B. Ward has been a long-time preacher in the Churches of Christ. He has served in that capacity in Page since September 2001.
It has been said that Christianity is a service of calmness, patience—with ourselves as well as others.

It is a service of dedication, purpose, faith, constancy, honor and submission.

It cannot be a service of self, and the commitment with which one approaches this world, and this life must be above all things, beyond all earthly concerns. The life of the Christian, given to God in sacrifice (Romans 12:1, 2).

It is the only means by which we may approach the loving God with any expectation of forgiveness because all of the aforementioned characteristics are part and parcel of the only acceptable sacrifices offered to God in true thanksgiving for gifts received at His hand.

Already believing, we offer these living sacrifices to the only one who deserves them and are offered without reservation.

Most meaningful is that there are no new laws, no new and different revelations because the God of heaven has finished his glorious work, a work crowned with the sacrifice of His sinless Son to purchase us from sin. Can you imagine our living God saying, “Wait…I may have left something out?”
