Focuses on Christian living: Faith, not fulfillment

This is the third in a series of five columns examining five principles we must follow if we truly aspire to be disciples faithful to the mission our Lord has given us.

Jesus said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.”

Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”

Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:27-29)

In an earlier devotion in this series, I commented on the drive in our culture to feel fulfilled and satisfied with ourselves and our lives. My message at that time was given as a warning against following the ways of the world to achieve this.
