Every New Year’s Day my schedule has consisted of watching the Rose Bowl Parade, bowl games and for a few years now I have hiked with friends and had a tailgate party to welcome the New Year.
This year I recorded the parade while preparing to do the Polar Bear Plunge at Antelope Point. Along with 36 other brave souls I jumped off a perfectly good dock into Lake Powell.
This year’s plunge was the First Annual Steve Ward Polar Bear Plunge in honor of Steve. It benefitted the Friends of Lake Powell, which was very important to him. I didn’t write about doing it just in case I chickened out and changed my list to read, “observe a Polar Bear Plunge,” which I had not done either.
