Protestors decry TeenScreen at meeting

Protestors picketed the school board’s June 25 meeting, prompting an emotionally charged public hearing about the Page Unified School District’s mental health screening of Page Middle School students.

Brandi Moran, of Native Americans for Community Action, spoke about “TeenScreen,” which the board approved Feb. 26. NACA administers the program.

The 14-question survey screens for such things as drug use, anxiety, depression, and suicide attempts or thoughts, Moran said.
