Page residents will again be asked to tax themselves, but this time it’s the city coming to them hat in hand instead of the school district.
City council agreed last week to put the question of implementing a property tax before the voters in the May general election.
The tax would be used to help pay down the city’s bond debt of about $14 million. When the debt is erased, the property tax would vanish as well, according to City Manager Rick Olson.
Council also voted tonight to dedicate revenue from land sales to the bond debt.
