Long-time Page resident and former school board member Jerry Williams was recently elected Coconino County director of the Arizona School Boards Association’s Board of Directors.
No stranger to governing boards and administrative proceedings, Williams said he first got involved in education when Mary Pines, one of his children’s elementary school teachers suggested he apply for a position on the district’s education committee.
“I am a parent first, and I wanted to be involved. I wanted to know what was going on from inside the classroom all the way up to policy making,” said Williams, who has two children that graduated from Page High School and one who is a sophomore this year.
