Nola Weeks passed away peacefully on Aug. 27, 2013, at the Beehive Assisted Living Home in Kanab at the age of 95.
Nola was born on Jan. 4, 1918, in Monroe, Utah, to Sophia J. and Willard R. Anderson. The family lived in Richfield, Utah and Widstoe, Utah, before moving to Ruth, Nev., in 1927.
Nola attended grade school in Ruth and high school in Ely, Nev. She held a variety of positions with Kennecott Copper Corporation, with the last being the secretary to the mine manager, which lasted until 1955.
She married E. Grant Weeks on July 6, 1946.
Nola was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and also was active in her church, holding several positions in the Ruth Ward of the LDS church.
She and Grant moved to Spanish Fork, Utah, in 1979, following Grantís retirement.
In 1997 they moved to Page where she lived until 2009, when she took up residence in the Beehive Home in Kanab.
Nola is survived by her son Edward (Threasa) Weeks; two grandsons, Adam Weeks and Jason Weeks; and one great-granddaughter, Nizhoni Weeks.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Zoe, her brothers Gordon, Koz, Thales, and Calvin, and her grandson Ryan Weeks.
Funeral services will be held on Sept. 7, 2013, at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 313 S. Lake Powell Blvd, Page. Viewing will take place from 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be held at the Page City Cemetery immediately following the service.
