Dan was born in California, and became a swimmer, surfer and rabbit raiser.
In 1973, he moved to Albuquerque, N.M., where he met the love of his life, Janet Lee. Never happy staying still, he acquired his first radio station in Gunnison, Colo. He and his wife built the business while his girls grew and started school in the small mountain community.
Restless again, he found a radio station in need of life support in Page. Leaving family behind for a while, he lived in the family RV while he revived the Arizona radio station. His 20 years of being owner, and general manager of the Page radio station didnít keep him from his other interests and hobbies.
Whatever Dan took on, he pursued it passionately. This would include his purposeful entry into politics as city councilor and the responsibility he felt being elected the mayor of Page.
As dedicated as he felt to those he represented, his dedication to his family was ever greater. He was a loyal, caring, loving husband and father. He delighted in dreaming up trips for his family; from the transit of Panama to Thailand to Kota Kinabalu to Alaska just four months ago, he was an insatiable adventurer.
Dan was predeceased by his father Daniel Keith Brown, and his mother Carol Jane Brown. He is survived by his wife Janet Lee Brown of Page, daughter Sarah Laurel Crank , husband Eldon Crank, grandchildren Payton Emma Crank and Cameron Ryan Crank, daughter Jessica Brown of Phoenix and sister Sally Brown-Martinez of Albuquerque, N.M.
Services were held at the United Methodist Church on Dec. 8.
