Edith May (Sherwood) Patterson

October 17, 1921 — April 25, 2012

Edith May (Sherwood) Patterson, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother passed away on April 25, 2012, in Phoenix at age 90. She was born on October 17, 1921, in Alba, Texas, the second of two children of Jesse Ray and Emily Sherwood. She married Joseph Elton (Pat) Patterson in 1938 and together they had seven children. The family moved to Page in 1960 so that her husband, a union electrician, could work on the building of the Glen Canyon Dam. Edith lived in Page for more than 47 years. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Ray Sherwood, her husband, and four sons, Benny Joe Patterson, Ronald Patterson (Evelyn), Bruce Patterson, and Terry Patterson. Edith is survived by her daughter Sue Patterson and sons Bobby Patterson, and Kenny Patterson. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Devin, Lisa, Sam, Kathy, Steven, Stephanie, Amy, Misty, Joey, Kyle, and Amanda; 14 great -grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Edith passed in her sleep at home with her family.

Edith loved her family and friends, and greeted everyone with a smile. Edith was known for her hospitality, her love of life, and her beautiful friendly smile. Edith was loved greatly, and will be dearly missed.
