The Page Middle School Panthers saw their chance for a second-consecutive undefeated season go by the wayside due in part to injuries to two key players, including quarterback Jacob Doyle, who suffered a broken collarbone on the first play of the Panthers’ 49-16 loss at Willams on Oct. 12.
“The kids were a bit shell-shocked, stunned,” said coach Jonathan Prather. “This would be the first real adversity these athletes faced in their two-year football experience.”
Starting running back and linebacker Estavan Espinoza injured his knee during a practice drill three days before the game, according to the coach.
