Rowley's South Ridge Farm Inc. Santaquin, UT. Temporary need from 01/05/2015 thru 10/15/2015. Six (6) full-time, seasonal, temporary Orchard workers needed. Requirements: a minimum of three (3) months experience in harvesting, Planting and pruning; Location; work will be performed in Santaquin, Utah. Duties; Pruning of trees using hand pruners, climbing up and down and carrying up to a 12 foot ladder, pruning of trees using pneumatics consisting of an 8 foot pole while dragging an airline. Stacking tree limbs, planting trees, shoveling soil, applying fertilizer, picking up rocks, pulling weeds, irrigation, thinning fruit from a ladder, Harvesting Sweet and tart Cherries, Peaches, Apples, picking fruit per instructions of supervisor, carrying a picking bucket while full of fruit for up to a 8 hour day. Following training/rules of Good Agricultural Procedures (GAP) requirements (e.g. advising supervisor of bleeding cuts, open wounds, sores, illness and following rules of hygiene practices etc.). Driving harvesting equipment, must be able to work in hot, dry, dusty, noisy, cold, wet, snowy conditions, must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., be able to follow instructions of job requirements, have ability to problem solve. Workers will be required to keep all property and housing clean Details: Tools, room, board, kitchen facilities, and transportation provided at no cost to the workers. Will work 40 hrs/wk Mon-Fri, wage is $10.89/hr. terms and conditions of employment; Workers must be available for entire work period; be able to perform manual as well as mechanized activities with accuracy and efficiency; work at a sustained vigorous pace on their feet in bent positions for long period of time. Workers must have or will be willing to perform tasks capably and efficiently without close supervision; absences from work/or failure to perform required tasks will not be tolerated; must be willing and to live and work singly or in trained in USDA Gap certification standards. Workers are required to keep all property, housing, and farm buildings clean, and must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by the supervisor; employee must be small groups of workers in isolated areas for extended periods of time; the job entails working with farm machinery such as tractors will work outdoors in all type of weather and occasional exposure to hazards such as poisonous snakes; must be able to provide employment eligibility documentation (I9 verification) upon hire. The employer will provide at no cost to the worker, worker's compensation coverage. The employer guarantees to offer the worker employment for a total number of work days equal to at least 3/4f the total work period beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or advertised contractual first day of need. Whichever is late to occur, and ending on the expiration date specified.
